When a homeowner asks AI who to call, is it you?

Homeowners now ask ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini who to hire, as well as searching Google. We check whether those AI assistants and Google name your business, show you why or why not, and do the work that gets you named.

For licensed home-service contractors in Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas and Clark counties. Every report is checked by a person before it is sent to you.

Example. The question is real, the answer is illustrative.

AI assistant

Who should I call to replace my roof in Beaverton?

Three names came back:

  • 1
  • 2
  • 3

We ask ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and others the questions your buyers ask, and record whether your name came back.

Search

roof replacement beaverton

Same question on Google, where most people still look.

The report

Twelve things we check, every time.

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Google decide who to name from the same places: your website, your Google Business Profile, your reviews, and every other site that mentions you. So the report covers all of it, gives each a plain status, and says what it means for your business and what we would do.

Example report card A fictional roofer in Washington County. The findings are illustrative.
  • Who you areWho pays you, what you sell, where you work

    Supported

Residential re-roofs and repairs across Washington County. License record matched.

  • Site basicsCan Google and the AI assistants read it

    Needs work

The site is readable, but the mobile pages are slow to show their main content and two old addresses still redirect in a chain.

  • Your pages against what buyers askServices, places, titles, proof

    Needs work

One page lists nine services. There is no page for leak repair, a job buyers search for by name, and no license number in the text.

  • Google Business ProfileCategory, services, service area, photos

    Needs work

The primary category is General contractor rather than Roofing contractor, and no services are listed.

  • Map resultsWhere you show for your trade in your towns

    Needs work

Not in the first three map results for a roofer in Beaverton or Tigard from the tested location.

  • Search resultsYour pages, your rivals, links to your site

    Needs work

Found for the business name. Not on the first page for roof replacement in the three towns tested.

  • AI assistantsChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI answers

    Needs work

Named in 1 of 12 answers across the AI assistants on the day tested. The same two rivals were named in 9.

  • ReviewsCount, rating, recency, where they are

    Needs work

41 Google reviews at 4.8, the newest from March. None on Yelp, which the AI assistants cited in 7 of the 12 answers.

  • ListingsSame name, phone and address everywhere

    Needs work

Three directories show an old phone number, and the business is missing from Bing and Apple Maps.

  • Recognized in your tradeAssociations, manufacturers, suppliers, local press

    Needs work

Not on the contractor locators of the two shingle brands the business installs, and not a listed member of the regional roofing association. Both rivals named by the AI assistants appear on all three.

  • How people reach youCalls, forms, the estimate request

    Supported

Tap to call works on a phone. The estimate form asks roof age and material.

  • Your own numbersSearch Console, calls, Business Profile activity

    Unknown

We did not have access. We can see public results; we cannot yet see which pages bring in calls.

Behind each row is the evidence, what it means for the business, and the work that fixes it, in priority order. Anything we could not check is marked unknown with the reason, never passed as fine.

The work

Then we do the work, every month.

Getting named takes steady work on ordinary things, not a trick. We start with what the report found and keep going.

At the start

  • Fix what Google and the AI assistants trip over: crawler access, speed on a phone, redirects, titles.
  • Build the pages buyers look for: one page per service you sell and per town you really work in, with your license, proof and photos.
  • Complete your Business Profile: the right category, your services, your service area and real job photos.
  • Get your listings right: the same name, phone and website on Yelp, Bing, Apple Maps, BBB and the directories your trade uses.
  • Get you recognized in your trade: listed with the associations, manufacturer and supplier contractor locators, and licensing directories for your work.
  • Set up the review request: a short message with your review link after every finished job, and to past customers.

Every month

  • Reviews: requests going out after each job, and a reply to every review.
  • A new page: a service or a town, written from the questions your buyers ask.
  • A new place your name appears: an association, a manufacturer or supplier, a local feature. The AI assistants trust businesses that other sites vouch for.
  • Upkeep: listings and your Business Profile kept current, and the site checked for anything that broke.
  • A one page report: what we did, what Google, the map and the AI assistants show now, and what is next.

The report is free. It comes with a plan that says what the work costs, and nothing changes on your site until you say so.

Our guarantee

Done as promised. We make it right if it isn't.

Every item includes a completion checklist: what we deliver, and the checks we run before we call it done. If our work misses anything on an item's checklist, tell us and we fix it free. If we cannot deliver an item we promised, we refund that item.

Search rankings and AI recommendations remain the engines' decisions. We guarantee the work we do, not where Google or any AI engine places your business.

One client per trade, per county

While you are an active monthly client, we will not take another client in your trade in your county.

The counties are Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas and Clark. It applies while your monthly plan is active; one-time orders do not carry it. If another monthly client already holds your trade and county, we can still do one-time work for you, and you are next in line for that seat.

This is a promise about the clients we take, not about what other agencies do.

Who we work with

Licensed contractors who work on homes in the Portland metro.

If your work calls for an Oregon CCB or Washington L&I license and you serve Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas or Clark county, this is for you.

The short list

What we do not sell, and why

Every one of these is on somebody's list of things to buy. They are not on ours, and this is the whole reason for each.

An llms.txt file.
It is a proposed file for telling AI assistants about a site. No engine has said it reads one, and we have never seen it change anything, so charging for it would be charging for a hope.
Structured data as a way into AI answers.
Schema is worth having: it states your name, address and hours as data instead of as decoration. What it is not is a lever that gets a business named in an answer, and anyone selling it as one is selling tidiness at the price of a result.
A rank position in an AI engine.
There is no ranking to hold. An assistant writes a paragraph and names whoever it names, differently the next time you ask, so a number in that space would be made up.
A disavow file.
Google's own guidance is that the disavow tool is for sites with a manual action against them, which almost nobody has. If your link profile has junk in it we will show you and tell you plainly that no action is recommended.
Credit for a change we cannot prove we caused.
Answers and results move on their own, all the time. Without holding something back and comparing, nobody can say a fix caused a change, so we report what changed and stop there.
Bing as a route into ChatGPT.
Being listed on Bing is ordinary search hygiene and worth doing on its own account. Which index any assistant actually draws on is not something we can see from outside, so we will not sell you one as the door into another.

If somebody quotes you for one of these, that is not automatically a scam. It is a good moment to ask them what result they expect and how they would know it happened.

Send us your website

We check your site, your listings, what Google shows for your trade in your county, and what ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini say when asked who to hire. You get the report and a plan by email.

No charge, no account, and nothing changes on your site until you say so. We work out your trade and county from what we find, so we do not ask.
